The Tomorrow series is a series of seven young adult invasion novels written by Australian writer John Marsden, detailing the invasion and occupation of Australia by a foreign power. The novels are related from the first-person perspective by Ellie Linton, a teenage girl, who is part of a small band of teenagers waging a guerrilla war on the enemy soldiers in the region around their fictional home town of Wirrawee. The Baby -sitters Club Series by Ann M Martin The Baby-Sitters Club is about a group of friends who live in the fictional, suburban town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut.These friends run a local babysitting service called “The Baby-Sitters Club”. Tom Weekly is the main character in my kids’ book series, My Life & Other Stuff I Made Up, illustrated by funnyman Gus Gordon. Tom Weekly has been with us since 2010. Now, five books, 50+ stories, and 125,000 words into our journey, I wonder if I really know him. I mean, can you ever truly know a weird dude like Tom?

Anne of Green Gables Series by L M Montgomery Centered on Anne for the majority of the series, this eight-book collection is prized and loved by many. Tutor Series by Lucy Worsley

Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson & the Olympians is a five book series. The main story that started in The Lightning Thief is wrapped up in The Last Olympian. I believe it’s important for a series to have a strong ending, and I always knew that Percy’s story would be five books.

We have some interesting workshops for Term 2 in 2021, again we will offer a Macrame workshop because the students are getting really good at the craft and there is always a great deal of interest. We will be celebrating Mother’s Day also this term and the students are always keen to make something for their mother. And, finally we are introducing a new jewellery workshop , creating a pendant using UV Resin.

Over the past two weeks the students in the Cre8 Lab have been building a NeoPixel engraved lamp.
This workshop is a bit challenging but well worth the effort for those who choose to finish.
The first step is to design a stand to fit the piece of acrylic which is already cut. So the students have to measure the acrylic sheet and design their stand using an online CAD program called Tinkercad. The stand also has to accommodate the NeoPixel strip and the Arduino board, which in this case is a Digistump board.
Then the students choose a design to engrave on their sheet of acrylic and while their stand is being printed they spend the time hand engraving. It takes a bit of getting used to but the girls did really well.
After all in done it is then time to put their creation together and light it up.

During the first couple of weeks of term 1 in the Cre8 Lab, the students were very excited to start the workshops with a Macramé clutch bag.
Always a popular workshop. Some of the girls are quite experienced in the art of knots, which was great for the new students, because they all help each other and kept the spirit up to finish their projects.
Macramé has made a return to fashion with a new age flare. It can be simple or complex and the students are beginning to experiment and personalise their designs more and more.

It was Valentine’s Day a couple of weeks ago and the students in the Makerspace and the Cre8 lab were hard at work creating cards for their special Galentine.
Each year All Hallows’ students celebrate Galentine’s day, giving thanks for the friendships made during their school years and letting their friends know that they care.

During 2021 the library will be a little different than before. Because the Potter building is getting a make-over, we have a few changes to how the library will be supporting the All Hallows’ students and staff this year.
At the end of 2020, the library staff were very busy cleaning out Potter Library, packing books, transporting them to McAuley and 501. Organising new shelving for McAuley, stacking and labeling shelves, moving equipment as well as the usual book collection and reorganisation for this year. It was a mammoth task but we survived and still have smiles on our faces, as you can see. In the video you will see the pull down and restructure of McAuley library. As well as all the spaces that are available for you to read, create, study, print, re-charge and collaborate.
We want you all to know that we are still here for you for all things library.

During 2021, the Potter Library will be getting a new look, so we are lucky enough to have a spot in the All Hallows’ Convent building for students to come before school, lunchtime and after school.
During lunchtimes, the students are able to participate in eSports. Just for fun and also to try out for the eSports team that will be competing in The Fuse Cup this year.
It is very popular and we have had a great response, with a number of girls taking the challenge, and trying out for the teams.
Just Dance 2021, Mario Kart and Rocket League are the games that will be in the competition this year.
Our library space is alive with music and excitement during lunchtimes at the moment.

The library would like to welcome everyone to the McAuley Makerspace. We have a lot of activities to share with you during term 1. First up, we have some “getting to know you” fun with games, badges, colouring-in and puzzles. As you can see by the pictures below we are very busy.

The Makerspace will be up and running as usual next year, and we have some great activities for the students to choose from. Always during the beginning of every year we have “Get to know you” activities for the first few weeks. Check out the presentation below to see what is happening during the first term 2021.
