31st May, 2019
Last Sunday 26th of May was the annual All Hallows’ Open day. This year we had over 2000 visitors come to see our school and learn a little bit about the All Hallows’ spirit. Students assisted in many areas of the school, looking after visitors and taking tours, as well as staff members who welcomed guests and answered questions about what is available at the school.
The McAuley Library and the Potter Library had displays in different areas of the libraries, showing students work, as well as the Makerspace and Cre8 Lab showing some of the workshops and activities that are available to students during the year.
This year the McAuley Library had a drone cage and the students were demonstrating how to code the drones to take off, navigate and land. This was very popular with the younger visitors. We also displayed the Lego WeDo and Squishy Circuits in the Makerspace and some of our students were explaining the process to our excited guests.
The Cre8 Lab display was popular also, displaying the projects that have been completed during the past 3 years, as well as some works in progress. Library staff were in the library to welcome visitors and answer questions if needed.
