3D Tinkercad Design and Printing

Term 1, 2022

Cre8 Lab student learned about 3D design platform Tinkercad. Tinkercad lets users create objects by manipulating shapes before adding or subtracting them from other shapes.

Tinkercad is an intuitive program that the students quickly picked up to get started on their 3D models. Students can then save their design files and transfer them to a 3D printer to bring their design to life.

The challenge was to design a tea light or a bowl with a pattern of holes. Some students went that step further and designed a lid to sit on top of their bowl.

We look forward to developing our Tinkercad skills further next term, using block coding.
